Construct-It {A Guidecraft Mom Review & Giveaway}

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Please review my disclosure policy.
I know it has been awhile since the Guidecraft Moms have reviewed some of the awesome educational products that Guidecraft has to offer. However, we are back and I am super-excited to tell you about one of our favorite new building toys!

image

The Construct-It Early Builder Set is a great beginner building with plastic pieces and tools for easy handling. With lots of boys in my home, this was the perfect set for all of them to use! While the building toy is designed for children ages 4 and up, my 3 year olds love joining in on the fun with my 5 year olds. In fact, my 7 year old daughter enjoys building with the Construct-It Set as well!

In case you are wondering what all is included, here is a peek at the 160 pieces included in the set!

031

I am a HUGE fan of toys that encourage creativity and this one definitely fits the bill! My kids used the building set to create all kinds of things! Here are just a few of their MANY creations:

A windmill, a digger, a limo for Barbie, a table, and binoculars:

121123039037038

A ladder for the super horse to climb up:

050

An airplane, a tool kit, a crane, and a grazing animal:

082151154157153

And, our most favorite creation…the "grabber”! The kids LOVED trying to use the grabber to pick up everything!

141148

Another aspect that I love about the Construct-It set is that it helps develop fine motor skills. My 3 year olds got lots of practice handling the nuts and bolts.

044040

After trying (unsuccessfully) to hammer the nut onto the bolt, my son soon figured out that he could screw the nut onto the bolt! Now that’s what I call problem solving in action!  :-)

047

And then he began to screw multiple nuts on the bolt! So, we added in a little math by counting the nuts as he screwed them onto the bolts! TJ was VERY serious about his “work”!!!

Our Final Thoughts: We absolutely love our Construct-It Early Builders set. It is such a wonderful building toy that spurs on the creative juices! In fact we now have two sets, which surprisingly is enough for all five of my kids to play with at the same time…with minimal arguing! :-)
