I know that this next purse is not made from jeans, but my mom made this super cute purse from a pair of my daughter’s old shorts! It turned out SOOOOO cute! I am convinced that it could be sold in a store somewhere!!!
Anyhow, to make the purses, all she did was cut the jeans off in the crotch area and stitch the bottom closed. Use the leg of the jeans/shorts to cut a handle for the purse and stitch it on. You can add a closure or velcro to the top if you want the purse to close. You can jazz up the bag a bit by adding ribbon in the belt loops!

Absolutely toooooo cute!!! Oh my goodness I have to try this with my daughter's jeans and shorts. They would be great bags for her and I both! That is an awesome gift to give to her YaYa (grandmother)and TiTi (aunt) for gifts also. This was a great great great idea. I can't wait to try it. LOL (Can you tell I'm excited about it? LOL)
ReplyDeleteI did that with my old jeans, and love it as a purse. My husband doesn't like it, but I kind of figure he can live with it.
ReplyDeleteTurned out super cute.
These are awesome. My mom did the same thing. I had a school bag that all the girls wanted. I finally gave it up in Highschool after using it for 3 years in middle school and the girl I gave it to used it all 4 years of high school. it was very popular! LOL I had forgotten how easy it was to make. my sister in law asked my mother in law to make her one out of her boy's jeans. I am actually thinking of making them and selling them around here. I hear alot of girls want them now that she has a purse. thanks for the idea of using the shorts. Thats just ADORABLE! I may have my daughter's help and give them their own homeschool business.
ReplyDeletesquishyEO3 ~ My daughter is in the process of trying to make some money to buy a toy that she wants and she decided to sell a few of the purses that she made. Perhaps I should start her on her own little business adventure too!! When I was a kid I was always trying to make and sell something! I was quite the little entrepreneur back then!
ReplyDeleteSigh. I wish I could sew.
ReplyDeleteI used to do this when I was younger. We also made backpacks too. May I share your pictures in my homeschooling yahoo group? I am in charge of sewing and cooking classes. I would love to show the ladies and girls what I am planning to do so they can save their old jeans and shorts.
ReplyDeleteThanks so very much,
