First, I cut a piece of foam down to about 1x8 inches. Then I folded it accordion style and stick the toothpick through it.
Next, I let the kids stick the pipecleaner through the hole I just made in the foam.
Cut the pipeclaner down a fold the ends a bit so that the foam will not slide off of it. While the kids did that, I cut the rest of the pipecleaner down to make the antennae. I also used my heart punch to punch little hearts from the reamaining foam. Next, I used the glue gun to glue on the antennae. While that dried, I glued the eyes onto the puff ball head and then I glued the head where I just glued the antennae. Finally, the kids used glue to glue the little hearts onto the antennae and along the body of their bug. You may want to use a glue gun for this part too, unless you have super patient kids....mine were not that happy about having to wait for their bugs to dry! :-)
And, there you have, your very own love bug!!!
