And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap,
if we do not give up.
-Galations 6:9
Ladies, please remember that raising your children is a down right tough job (especially it you add homeschooling on top of it!!!), but it is all well worth it! All of the little and big things involved in keeping my home and raising my kids began to weigh on me. But, I was encouraged by this!!!
But they who wait for the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
-Isaiah 40:31
I don't know if I am speaking to anyone else, but I KNOW for sure that I am talking to myself! You know, sometimes you just have to encourage yourself in the Word...know what I mean?!?!? So, with that, Jenn (and anyone else who this may apply to) do not grow weary! Do not give up! Wait on the Lord and HE will renew your strength!!! Mount up and soar. Run the race that the Lord has called you to!
Is it just me who has been battling weariness or am I "preaching to the choir"? :-)

Welcome to my main blog!

No, it's not just you. I've been feeling so behind on everything lately - like I will never catch up. Thanks for this encouragement. The Word is always strengthening, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this encouragement! It is easy to get caught up in the day to day things and indeed grow weary. Thanks for the reminder of who we are to keep our eyes on and hope in.

Oh girl, I am SO in the choir.
ReplyDeleteLove you friend.
Thank you thank you thank you...just what I needed today.
ReplyDeleteGreat scriptures to live by.
ReplyDeleteJenn,
ReplyDeleteI often feel weary! Here are two of my favorite verses:
2 Corinthians 12:15
I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If(I love you more, am I to be loved less?
Also, I love these verses...that our high priest invites us to draw near and receive mercy and help.
Hebrews 4:15-16
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
No, it's perfect timing as I face a mountain of laundry, a smelly bedroom from potty training. Poop my daughter decided to smear on the door, why does she stick her hand in the dirty diaper? And way too much cleaning to even think about.
ReplyDeleteWhat comfort is found in seeing that others struggle with this. I ended up burning out at the end of last year, that seems so long ago when stated like that. I have fought not to over commit and meet with God daily so that He could restore within me a heart that had a great desire to sever her Lord and her family.
ReplyDeleteThis is just what I needed today, and lately, everyday. Thank you for this great reminder.
ReplyDeleteWeary. . . is that what I have been feeling? Thank you for such an encouraging post!
ReplyDeleteThank you, it is so easy to think in terms of time and forget that God doesn't consider time a hinderence like we do. It is hard in terms of the now to parent, but I have to keep reminding myself it is the future I am working towards.
ReplyDeleteAmen, it's a tough job. I just keep thinking about that judgment seat of Christ. I think that all this work with the kids is going to be that gold, silver, precious stones mentioned in 1 Cor. 3:12. We moms MUST stay in the word!
ReplyDeleteTough day here too. Ended it by crying while my little one cried too. Some days are much more difficult than others to get through. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Yes, this is extremely difficult, but worth it.
ReplyDeleteI really needed this word of encouragement tonight. Thank you so much for sharing this. I am facing a situation within my family that has left me feeling weary and unwilling to wait on the Lord. I needed both of these scriptures tonight.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ladies for all of your encouragement and kind words! In some weird way, I take comfort in knowing that I am not the only one who gets like this!! :-)
ReplyDeleteJenn.. needed to read that today. thank you for the reminder. I get in a rut of trying to do this all on my own, and forget that is God that gives me strength. I have those days when I hate my "job" and I just want to mope... It's cool to have on line friends that can relate!
ReplyDeleteJenn- take some time off for YOU. Especially if you're homeschooling and are constantly giving to others. When you take care of YOU, you're a better mother.
ReplyDeleteI so needed this today. I feel like I am drowning in everything. Thank you for this. It brought tears to my eyes. Isaiah 40:31 is my favorite scripture. You spoke to my heart
ReplyDeleteThank you for blessing me today! I have definitely been feeling weary! Yes raising children is such a blessing and so much work and so much fun! Homeschooling on top of all of that is even more work. I am so blessed daily and so thankful that my husband and I chose to homeschool our children. Thank you soooooo much for the encouragement! You have blessed myself and it is definitely helpful knowing that there are other moms out there that struggle with the same thing at times!!
