We had lots of fun during our V for vegetables week from our My Father's World curriculum. One of the highlights was making our very own homemade vegetable soup...from scratch! (I had hoped to do this during rock week when we read Stone Soup, but we didn't.) Believe it or not it was our very first time making it from scratch. KJ told me what veggies she wanted to put in and we added it!!!! We put in some chicken broth and lots of spices and called it good!!! Much to my surprise it was REALLY good! Yay us!!!!We talked about our very first garden, which we planted last spring. We also saved some seeds from various fruits and veggies and put them in the super cute printable seed packets! Our plan is to plant them in the spring and see what happens!
One of the books that we read was The Tale of Peter Rabbit
We also made our vegetable lapbook:
I used printables from Homeschool Share from here and here. The veggies on the front were a pdf printed from KidzClub.
As always, we read tons of books. Here are some of our veggie books:
Well, that wraps up the highlights from our Vegetable week!

Welcome to my main blog!

Yummy! Nothing better then homemade soup of any kind! Yes, that would have been great with Stone Soup, oh but with the study of vegetables, its seems even better.
ReplyDeleteA good one to do with Stone Soup is to use a ham hock, the bone is the stone, and the beans and or vegetables is the rest of the soup.
I love being able to just check out what you did for your units. So much fun.
