Opposites (according to my kids)

For awhile my daughter would talk about what she did yesternight and I had no idea what she was talking about until I realized...yesternight is the opposite of yesterday. So, I was reminded about my daughter's cute little opposite, when JJ came up with his own too. The other day, he was playing with his cars and he told me that one car landed upside down and the other landed upside up. How cute!!

  1. Hi Jenn,
My sister, Joy, told me about your blog. I am the mother of 3 kiddies ages 2 and under...including a set of boy and girl twins! I've enjoyed looking around at your blog. I am interested in starting tot school with my 2 year old, Halley. The website has so much great stuff and I don't know where to begin. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

  2. Thanks for stopping my Shaunta! I checked out your blog and your kids are so cute!!! As for Tot School, I really don't know what to tell you other than start with what you think would be of interest to her. Carisa has alot of little tot books that you can make for your dd to use. I, personally, have a big bin of things that I only take out during "school" time for my tots to play with. I have things like sock matching, blocks, wood puzzles, etc. The main thing is for the kids to realize that learning is fun. So, as long as it is fun, you really can't go wrong!

  3. Shaunta,

I forgot to mention that Carisa also has another site called Totally Tots. I have a link to in on my blog. She has lots of great ideas on there too!

  4. Jenn,
Thx for the quick reply. I have been to the Totally Tots page before, as well. Both sites are GREAT!!! I printed some of the "Monkeys Jumping..." lapbook. Do you laminate your books? I think Halley will really like it. Thx for the compliment on my kiddies...I think they're super cute, too!

  6. Hello, my name is Kristen Kelleher, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. I am currently enrolled in a journalism course, and have been doing research for a piece I'm writing on raising larger families. If you are willing, I would be interested in asking you some questions about your thoughts on larger families, and any experiences that you would be able to share with me. If you or anyone you know is interested, email me at kkellehe@umw.edu, and I can send you my questions. I'm sure that you are very busy, and if you are unable to respond to me, I'll certainly understand. Please let me know if you would be interested in helping me, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

    Sincerely,
    Kristen Kelleher

  7. Shaunta,

Honestly, I have not made any lapbooks for my 3 year old boys yet. I have had every intention to do so, but I haven't. I have, however, made quite a few lapbooks with my daughter who is 5. I do not laminate hers...except for her file folder games. I know that she is not as rough on them as her brothers would be. So, to answer your question, no I have not been laminating the lapbooks. But, I definitely don't think it is a bad idea!!! :-)
