How to Make a Blog Background

Those who keep up with my blog have probably noticed that I have been making changes. My latest discovery is that I can create my own blog background. I used a tutorial that I found at Cutest Blog on the Block. As I have mentioned before, I have figured out how to use Photoshop and I LOVE it! It has been one of the best finds that I have made...aside from my bread machines and my juicer! (I found it brand new about a year ago at the Goodwill for about $20). Anyhow, I used it to create my background by following the instructions on the tutorial mentioned above. I did adjust the widths a bit so that it would fit with my header. I didn't really want to add all the flair suggested in the tutorial, but overall, I am pleased! So, if you are trying to figure out this whole blog design thing, be sure to check out their site. They have lots of "secrets" about blogging to share, plus lots of free premade designs!

  1. Hi Jenn;

    Thanks for the 'point' over to cutest blog on the block and their tutorials. I am challenged in blog-makeover stuff, so perhaps this will be the shoe that fits?

  3. Hi Mama Jenn!

    Thanks so much for the tip! I have been visiting the site you mentioned for tutorials. I would just like to ask if you have any tips on how to customize the background size...I tried making personalized backgrounds but whenever I use them, it just posts over limited area over the page. I wanted it be spread out instead. 'Hope you could help me. Thanks!

  4. I like the background you made. I like things a bit simpler than most of the free templates out there. I'm hoping I can figure out how to do this myself! ;-)
