Rebates with Ebates

I have found out about a GREAT resource to save/make money while doing holiday shopping...or for that matter, ANY online shopping. Now, with five small children, I find that I do most of my gift shopping online (that is, if I don't make the gifts), which makes Ebates perfect for me. I have just started using the site and I have already earned $16.68 in rebates...just from doing some of my Christmas shopping online. I just think this is so neat! I love saving money and here I get to do it just by doing my normal online shopping.

So, what is the catch? How does it work? Check out this explanation here. The basic idea is that you sign up for Ebates and whenever you shop online, begin your shopping by going to their site. They have TONS of vendors to choose from, like Best Buy, Old Navy, Expedia, and Target...just to name a few. But, the key is to start your shopping from the Ebates site and then click on your vendor from their link. It is like getting money back for doing the shopping that you would normally do.

One thing that I do to save more money is to look for online coupon codes to use as well. So, here is an example of one of my recent online shopping experiences with Ebates: I needed to purchase some craft items from Oriental Trading to use to make Christmas gifts. So, I first searched online for Oriental Trading coupon codes. I found a coupon code for free shipping. I copied the coupon code. Next, I went to the Ebates site and logged in. I then selected Oriental Trading from the Ebates site and it confirmed my rebate percentage, which was 3%. (I got a whopping 10% back for my Snapfish order!!!). Once at the Oriental Trading site, I placed my order. At the end of the order, I used my coupon code to get free shipping in addition to my 3%rebate. After my order was complete, I got credit from Ebates and will receive the rebate amount into my Paypal account (You can also opt to receive a check in the mail). That is it!
