KJ learned out to count by 2's (up to about 10) awhile back. So, we have been reviewing how to count by 2's for about a week now. So, yesterday in the midst of the chaos of me trying to get dinner on the table she told me should could count by A's. I said okay and totally disregarded her comment. So, today I was able to work with just her on her schoolwork (the boys were quietly playing downstairs...so I let them keep playing). Anyhow, she announces, again, that she can count by A's. Here I am thinking that I am misunderstanding what she says and then all of a sudden she says, "A C E G I K M...and so forth." She was counting by A's! Once I figured out what she was doing, I couldn't help but laugh. It is amazing how kids make connections in their heads!

I think that's really neat! I bet most adults can't even do that without looking at it on paper or without major effort.
